New Hampshire Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Access Section 1115(a) Research and Demonstration Waiver and its Billing Requirements
Date: 07/02/18
To improve access to residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment for its Medicaid beneficiaries, the State of New Hampshire has submitted a Section 1115(a) Demonstration Waiver. The waiver will allow residential SUD treatment facilities to have more than 16 beds available for Medicaid recipients and will allow the Medicaid patient to stay in an IMD as long as is medically necessary. The waiver covers NH Medicaid recipients, under age 65, who have a primary diagnosis of SUD. Medicaid recipients enrolled with NH Healthy Families are covered under this waiver.
