New Hampshire Healthy Families is committed to providing appropriate, high-quality, and cost-effective drug therapy to all New Hampshire Healthy Families members. New Hampshire Healthy Families covers prescription medications and certain over-the-counter medications with a written order from a New Hampshire Healthy Families provider. The pharmacy program does not cover all medications. Some medications may require prior authorization and some may have limitations. Other medically necessary pharmacy services are covered as well.
Preferred Drug List
New Hampshire Healthy Families follows the New Hampshire Department Health and Human Services Medicaid Preferred Drug List (PDL). The PDL is a list of effective prescription drugs within therapeutic drug classes. The PDL is continually evaluated by a committee of practicing physicians and pharmacists to ensure appropriate and cost-effective use of medications without compromising the quality of care.
