New Applied Behavioral Health (ABA) Billing Codes
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors, such as social skills, communication, reading, and academics. ABA also helps with adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality, and job competence. The American Medical Association CPT® Editorial Panel has released eight new Category I codes and two revised Category III codes for billing ABA therapy services. These codes are effective January 1, 2019.
